The course covers a wide range of different topics, not only theory but also practical exercises and independent familiarization with different topics and applications related to information security. If you attend the course, you shouldn't be afraid of setting up Linux virtual machines...

A short feedback of this amazing course!

I learned a lot of new things. I haven’t been playing with cryptography beforehand and it was interesting to learn more how cryptocurrencies actually work.

I have cracked some passwords in the past, but the course did refresh my memory and I learned a bit about new tools such as Hashcat as well.

I did find course very useful and especially understanding Att&ck models does give me some tools to further improve security of the customers that I work with. Also understanding more about Cyber Kill Chain doesn't hurt. Knowing your enemy is the way to learn best ways to stop adversaries.

I did enjoy presentations. Some of them were lengthy and did go into a detail and at times they might have been even a little be too long. Maybe it would be wise to give some advice what kind of presentation is expected in the start of the course.

Did I find homework useful? I did even though doing those did take a lot of my time. I suppose you can’t learn anything without a proper amount of work so yes, homework did teach me a lot and was a mandatory part of the course.

I mostly enjoyed the course even though I am introvert for someone like me using camera at all times can be a little taxing. Also, I am a little bit of shy to use English so this was a little bit of going to the uncomfort zone type experience for me – in a good way.

Would I recommend this course? Yes I would! For sure. Even if this was a rather demanding course and took a lot of time … but you will also learn a lot so just do it!

Did you learn something?
I learnt a lot of things about cracking keys and that kind of stuff, but eventually I learnt to do english homeworks quite fast and for quality.

Do you now know something you did not know before the course? (Models, frameworks, ideas, tools?)
Kill chain and other that kind of models were new to me.

Did you do something for the first time? (Used some technique or a tool for the first time?)
Cracking passwords, start using Onion sites and many else.

Is this useful? Are these skills and this knowledge useful in companies or your work?
I think the most notable thing for me was doing homeworks in english and there were quite a lot of homework assignments thinking my time schedule. I had to put really effort to do all things that were on the list.

How did you like the presentations? Interesting subject? Did you like presenting? Commenting presentations?
Presentations were good. Doing presentation gave me much experience even thought it was only one.

Did you find homework useful? Interesting? Challenging enough?

Feelings: did you enjoy the course? Did you like the atmosphere in the classes?
Yes, very much.

How could I improve the course? (I can make almost any change here, if it's important)
Would you recommend the course? Have you already recommended it? Who would benefit from the course (a colleague, a fellow student)?

Almost every topic on this course was new to me and I learned a lot. Due to time schedule with another courses I didn’t have that much time to expand my understanding with the topics and that was the reason I didn’t have time to do the extra tasks of every homework. This course was a personal achievement for me because at first I was thinking to quit (because it was a bit more technical for me than I guessed it) but then I managed to go through the course

In this course you will learn a lot! You are not only reading material but also doing in practice which is big plus. In my opinion our group had good interaction with each other + teacher.

There were kind of much homework to do every week and depending of the topic it could be time consuming.

The whole topic was new to me, and I had to learn from scratch. I've learned a lot, and I spend very much time for this class trying to understand the subject. However, surprisingly this topic wasn't boring. Practical exercises are the best always to understand the theory.

Presentations were very different, and many are extremely interesting.

How to improve the class: more practical tasks like we did with hashes.

I feel like I learned a lot in this course. There were many topics covered and this seems like a really good first step (or first couple of steps) when diving into ICT security and understanding blockckhain technology etc. The course was also challenging and the topics were interesting so it was not hard to participate to the lectures.

I learned how to link to a virtual machine, which is something I didn't even know existed. I also learned about blockchains, but I would still need to re-read it or look at my notes if someone asks me about it.

In my line of work, probably won't be using these new learning points, but I certainly will know to be more careful what I share and what I open.

Presentations were very interesting, and also taught me something I didn't know about. Even the Helsec event.

I enjoyed the course a lot, and especially the energy and humor from Tero.

I have recommended the course already to some colleague who might do their Master's next year.

Great course, not too technical but great overview of the ICT security overall. This is great for anyone looking to learn about ICT security. I really liked the different presentations from the other participants providing information on areas of their own expertise.

The online meetings were well planned and Tero kept it interesting even though the participants didn't always share video. Tasks assigned during the course were interesting and every time I also learned something new even in cases where I already new the technical stuff.

I'd recommend this course 100%.
